Corie Pel-Leifer
Association Director
Corie is an American who has been living in the Netherlands for almost seven years. After completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from George Mason University in Virginia and earning the title of Registered Nurse (R.N.), she moved to Amsterdam to pursue her Master’s Degree in International Public Health at the VU University. Upon graduation, Corie found a position at the foundation where she completed her internship as a Project and Office Manager. There she advocated for progressive policies within the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and implemented projects in cooperation with local organizations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. In addition to planning study tours, conferences and meetings, Corie worked closely with the Board of the foundation and with other high-level stakeholders in SRHR such as Global Fund, UNAIDS, and EU Commission CSF on HIV/AIDS. Corie has since worked as an Association Manager for a pediatric medical association and as Public Health Campaign Manager in the field of HPV. Corie also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a minor in Political Science and has experience in Marketing and Communications in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.
Corie resides in a lovely Dutch village with her husband and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys participating in professional organizations, crocheting, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her fur-babies.
